About Barkley Mulch Services

Some Franklin Lakes storms do not fall so much as glaze — a January rain that turns on the way down and leaves the fence lines out past Pulis Avenue sheathed in glass. Barkley Mulch Services runs snow work through nights like that: plowing drives, shoveling walks and steps, and salting the places where a slope and a shadow happen to meet. The borough's ground rolls, so half the trouble is never depth but pitch, the little grade beside the garage door that never quite drains. Getting a driveway down to bare surface before the school buses move is the entire point of the hour. When daylight finally lands on a clear apron of asphalt, the work is showing itself.
