Four in the morning after a storm, the road past Turkey Brook is one white lane and the plow lights are the only color in it. Oasis Landscape and Construction LLC works both ends of the Flanders year — plowing and shoveling driveways, clearing walks, salting wherever ice sets up, then trading blades for mower decks once the ground finally softens. Summer here is short, green and busy: cutting on a set week, trimming the awkward corners, mulching beds, hauling off whatever spring and fall leave behind. A property looked after in July is easier to plow in January, because whoever clears it already knows exactly where the driveway edge is. That kind of memory turns out to be most of the job.
