About Al D Landscaping & Tree Service

Fairview stacks its streets up the back of the Palisades, and the grade is the first thing anyone working here learns to respect. Through the winter Al D Landscaping & Tree Service is out on those inclines early, plowing the driveways that pitch down toward Anderson Avenue and salting the walks so the first commute of the morning finds bare pavement waiting. By May the same slopes have gone green, and the mowing runs on the diagonal, edged tight where turf meets the retaining wall. It is a borough of under a square mile, so the work is done among neighbors and in plain view, and no block gets a pass. What stays with you at the end of a route is the sight of a whole hill cut level and every step clear underfoot.
