Emerson was built out in capes and split-levels set close together, and its front yards run in an unbroken green ribbon down each block. Merrill Landscaping keeps its stretch of that ribbon even — regular cuts, trimmed hedge lines, the strip between sidewalk and curb handled as carefully as the middle of the lawn. June is the demanding month, when everything grows twice as fast as anyone expects, and the schedule holds anyway. The season begins with a March cleanup and finishes when the last leaves are hauled off. Nothing dramatic about any of it, which is exactly why it works.
