Giron's Tree Service

About Giron's Tree Service

In February the wind off the Arthur Kill has nothing to slow it, and the bare trees along the Elizabeth River show every weak fork they own. Giron's Tree Service reads them then — clearing the dead, taking weight off limbs that overhang a driveway or a fence, shaping crowns so the next gale finds less to work with. Peterstown yards are narrow and the houses stand shoulder to shoulder, so when a tree has to go it leaves in measured cuts, roped down to the pavement. After a storm they're out clearing what fell, cutting it small and carting it off so the block gets its curb back. From Elizabethport to the streets around Union Square and out into the neighboring towns, this is the ordinary work that keeps a place standing.
