For about ten days each April the cherries in Warinanco Park make Elizabeth look like a different city, and anyone who tends ground around here takes that as the starting gun. Botanik Garden Co keeps lawns and yards across the city on rhythm from that week onward — cutting, edging, trimming the fussy corners, clearing beds of whatever the cold months left behind. The work is unglamorous and cumulative: do it right this week so next week is easier. By July a maintained lawn still holds its color while the skipped ones have gone to straw. When the last leaf comes down the cycle closes and the ground goes to rest tidy.
