In May the Great Egg Harbor River runs dark and slow beneath the pines, and everything above the bank grows about an inch a day. Distinctive Lawns Inc rides that surge — weekly mowing, crisp edges along walks and beds, trimming around posts and fence lines, feeding and weed control so the turf thickens rather than thins. A township this size holds a great deal of grass, from the river neighborhoods to the streets running off Fire Road. The work travels out to Somers Point, Linwood, Mays Landing and Hamilton Township as well. The pleasure of it is the after picture: mow lines running true across a whole front yard, and a border you could set a ruler against.
