West of the township the ground flattens out into salt meadow and tidal creek, and when the wind crosses it in late December it carries the whole ocean along. Always In Season Services meets that weather with plow trucks and shovels: driveways cleared, lots opened, sidewalks and steps scraped down, salt spread against the freeze that follows a storm. Snow coming off the Atlantic is heavy and wet and it sets up fast, which is why the first pass goes out early and a second one follows. The work carries across Scullville and Bargaintown and out to Northfield, Linwood and Somers Point. Whole winters get counted in passes made and drives opened before the first car turns over.
