Light does most of the storytelling in East Windsor. In June it hangs on past eight, long and gold across the flat ground, and Solares Landscaping, Inc. is still out mowing, edging and clearing clippings while the sky holds. In January the sun sits low and hard, throwing blue shadows off every bank the plow leaves behind. Same properties, different hours: cutting and trimming through the warm stretch, plowing drives, shoveling walks and salting steps through the cold one. The pleasure is identical either way — standing at the curb at the end of it and seeing the whole place squared away.
