East Orange Municipal Yard

About East Orange Municipal Yard

East Orange is a dense, tree-lined city of brick apartment houses and big old frame homes, threaded with small parks where summer grass gives the neighborhoods room to breathe. East Orange Municipal Yard is listed under lawn care in East Orange, the work of keeping those patches of green mown and trimmed. In late spring, when the street trees close their canopies over the avenues, grass in shade and grass in sun grow at different speeds and both need steady attention. A clean-cut lawn in a city is a small public kindness; it slows people down for a moment on the way to the bus stop. From Elmwood Park to the quiet side streets, that green is part of what makes East Orange feel like home.
