About Workhorse Landscaping

Clifton runs on a grid of front lawns, and by six on a June evening the whole city smells like cut grass. Workhorse Landscaping keeps that rhythm going through Athenia and Richfield — mowing, trimming, and the clean edge along a sidewalk that makes a small yard look twice its size. Down by Weasel Brook the trees go gold and the work turns to leaves, and then to snow, driveways opened and walks cleared while Van Houten Avenue is still dark. There is a plain satisfaction in a straight run of stripes across a lawn, and in a curb apron a car can back out of without a second thought. Lawn care one season, snow removal the next, block by block in a city where people look at each other's yards.
