About Aspen Services, Inc.

Light arrives slowly in Ringwood, held off by the Ramapo ridges until it finally slides down the slope toward Shepherd Lake and burns the dew off the grass. That is the hour Aspen Services, Inc. keeps, when a mower can leave clean stripes across a yard cut out of oak woods. The work here is lawn care on mountain ground — mowing, trimming, edging along the walks, and hauling off the clippings and leaf litter the hillside is always sending down. A Ringwood lawn is never a flat rectangle; it is a clearing, and holding its edge against the treeline takes attention rather than speed. Come evening, when the lake goes silver, the difference is easy to read from the road.
