About Art Lawn Gardening

Late summer along Cropwell Creek runs thick and green, the air heavy the way South Jersey air gets in August, and the gardens out toward Croft Farm will run riot if nobody minds them. Art Lawn Gardening minds them — mowing and trimming, tending beds, weeding, pruning and keeping the planting neat around a house. The work stays close to the ground: hands in the mulch, a blade drawn along a border until the curve reads clean from the street. By evening a yard that had gone shaggy looks composed again, the shrubs given room, the grass even all the way to the fence line. In a township of soft lawns and old shade trees, that kind of attention shows from the sidewalk.
