Out along Sunset Boulevard the Meadows lie flat and shining in the June morning, the marsh grass all bending one way while an osprey holds still over the ditch. Castro's Lawn Care & Landscaping mows and trims on that side of Cape May, where the wind arrives off the marsh with salt in it and any grass left alone goes rank by July. Their week has a rhythm to it — mow, edge, blow the clippings back into the turf, leave the walk swept behind them. Fertilizing and overseeding are part of it too, because a lawn a quarter mile from the bay lives a harder life than one inland. By the time the light turns gold over the marsh grass, the yards behind the truck are all clean angles.
