After a June rain the air along Mount Ephraim Avenue goes green and heavy, and every lawn from the Woodlynne line inward puts on two days of growth overnight. Jhon's landscaping, LLC comes through once the grass has dried enough to cut clean — mowing at an even height, trimming tight to posts and porch corners, running the edge until the walk has a true line again. Beds get weeded and defined, hedges get cut back off the windows, and nothing is left scattered on the pavement. In spring it is the wake-up cleanup; in late fall it is leaves, gone before the first freeze locks them down. There is something plainly good about pulling up to a yard that had gotten away and leaving it settled.
