Berlin Township sits on the western hem of the Pine Barrens, where pitch pine and scrub oak give way to lawns and the little streams run tea-colored toward the Great Egg Harbor. JMA Tree Service keeps the grass under that canopy in shape: mowing, trimming, edging, yard cleanups and hauling off what the wind leaves behind. Shade lawns are their own problem — thinner, slower, forever collecting needles and small limbs — and they reward a light, regular hand more than a heavy one. After a July squall rolls through, a yard can go from orderly to strewn in twenty minutes, and putting it right again is simply the day's work. The pines stay; the mess does not.
