COUSIN'S GARDEN DESIGN

About COUSIN'S GARDEN DESIGN

October in Berlin turns everything to seed heads and low slanting light, and a property either goes into the cold looking tended or it doesn't. COUSIN'S GARDEN DESIGN keeps the lawn cut and the ground around it in order — bed borders held to a defined line, growth trimmed back where it has run out over the grass, leaves and cuttings cleared away. There's an eye involved: where turf ends and planting begins is a decision, and it either reads well from the sidewalk or it nags at you. Cold arrives late this far south, so the green hangs on into November while the pines darken behind it. Then the yard rests, orderly, and waits for the ground to warm again.
