For a place this tightly built, Bergenfield is remarkably green in July — a canopy over the streets, and beneath it a few thousand small lawns holding their color on the rise between the Hackensack and the Palisades. Country Green Landscaping keeps its share of them: weekly mowing, edging along the walk and drive, string-trimming the corners no mower can take, clippings blown clear. Mulch goes in to hold moisture through the hot stretch, and hedges are cut back so the front of a house keeps an outline. Two cleanups a year handle the messes the calendar makes at either end. There is real pleasure in a yard the size of a living room, finished exactly right.
