Beach Haven still wears its Victorian bones — deep porches, tall windows, avenues running ocean to bay under old shade. Barclay Landscaping & Irrigation mows and maintains the lawns along them, cutting early while the streets are quiet and the sea air is still cool. Island grass grows on sand and lives on attention, so the routine holds steady: weekly mowing, edges kept crisp against the brick walks, hedges shaped, beds mulched and clean. In April the beds get cleared and freshened; in October the yards get put to bed after the last visitors leave. A small green lawn in front of a white porch at eight in the morning is the sort of thing this island does well.
