About Better Homes and Yahrdens

June in Barnegat's newer neighborhoods means sprinklers ticking at six in the morning and cul-de-sacs full of lawns that all want the same two things: a straight line and a sharp edge. Better Homes and Yahrdens mows, trims and edges through the growing season, then handles the cleanups that bookend it in spring and fall. The soil out here runs sandy and the sun coming off the bay is unsparing about anything half-finished, so the work shows itself. When the cold arrives the trucks go back out plowing and salting the very driveways they mowed past all summer — the whole loop, start to finish. It is a plain sort of pride, but a real one: the yard looks cared for from the street.
