About Ace of Spades Lawn and Property Services

West of the village the pavement gives out into sugar sand and pitch pine, and in late August the light goes long and gold across all of it around seven o'clock. That is often the hour Ace of Spades Lawn and Property Services is finishing up — trailer loaded, the last lawn cut and trimmed, the clippings blown off the walk. Barnegat turf grows on ground that drains fast and forgives little, which makes a thick, even cut worth something. When the year turns, the same crew is out ahead of the township plows, opening driveways and walks and putting salt down before the first commuter backs out. Same properties, same attention, different tool on the front of the truck.
