By late August the light turns amber around six and every lawn in Audubon holds the day's warmth a little longer. Trow Enterprises is out in it, mowing and keeping up properties across a borough where the yards are modest and the standards are not. Flat ground, short blocks, sidewalks on both sides — it makes for handsome work when done with care and an obvious mess when it isn't. The reward is the walk-away look: stripes running true, trim tight around the porch steps and the mailbox post, the driveway blown clear. Then on to the next one before the light goes.
