Morning comes late over Cobbetts Pond in the cold months, and by the time the light finally reaches Windham's granite ledges and stone walls, Grandview Landscaping has already been out in it — pushing snow off driveways in long clean passes, because down here in the pine-and-oak hills south of the notches, it falls hard and it falls often. Come warmer weather the same trucks answer a softer sky: mowing lines drawn straight across yards that slope toward the water, landscape maintenance shaped to each property's own stubborn grade, irrigation set running, a tree taken down where it needs to come down. There is real satisfaction in a lawn that holds its color through a humid July, in the edge of a bed that stays crisp against the mulch, in a drive cleared to the pavement before the first car turns onto the road. The work moves through Windham, Londonderry, Derry, Hudson, Salem and Pelham, one yard at a time, leaving each one looking cared for. That is the whole ambition, and it is not a small one.
