Winchester climbs the moment you leave the village, hayfields tipping upward, stone walls running off into the trees, and a long look back down the valley. Hilltop mowing takes its name honestly, keeping yards on slopes where the ground is never quite level and a mower has to be handled with respect. Late in the day, when the light comes in sideways and cut grass turns gold, a fresh-mown hillside is a genuinely beautiful thing to stand and look at. Alongside the mowing there is string trimming around ledge and posts, edging where lawn meets gravel, and cleanups at both ends of the growing year. Winchester and the hill towns beside it keep the schedule full from the first green flush to the last leaf down.
