Weare is a town of ledge and long dirt roads, where the Piscataquog winds between wooded hills and old stone walls still hold the lines of farms the forest has mostly taken back. Heafield Landscaping works that uneven ground — mowing lawns carved out of pine and maple, walking the mower's edge along granite and root until the yard reads clean and deliberate against the treeline. Come winter, the same driveways go long and white under the hills, and the plow opens them before the sun clears the ridge, leaving a black lane and a squared bank at the mailbox. There is a plain satisfaction in it: a lawn that holds its shape through the heat, a way out to Route 114 waiting for you at six in the morning.
