Wakefield Corner in October is white clapboard, old wavy window glass and elms turning over a road that hasn't changed much. Quality Evergreens mows, trims and edges through the Wakefield season, then keeps working right through the leaf drop until the lawns are clear again. Autumn is the busiest stretch of the year here, and a yard raked down to green in November looks twice as good as one left buried. Spring brings the opposite job — sweeping out sand, lifting what winter matted flat, making the first mow look sharp. It's ordinary work done carefully, on roads that deserve it.
