About Baker Landscaping

Wakefield Corner keeps its old houses gathered close around the crossroads, and every one of them looks finer framed by a tended lawn. Baker Landscaping takes care of lawns here in Wakefield, a lake town tucked against the Maine border where June shows up a little late and then all at once. After a week of rain the grass leaps, and the job is to meet it: an even cut, clean lines along the fieldstone, clippings swept off the walk. There is real satisfaction in turning a shaggy yard back into the tidy green the old village was built to sit in. Stand on the step afterward and the whole place seems to straighten its collar.
