In June the fields in Sugar Hill go purple with lupine and half the state drives up to look, and the lawns along those roads have to be ready for company. Up at this elevation the Franconia Ridge stands across the valley and the light stays thin and clear well into the evening. Grass grows slower here and comes in greener for the wait.
