Spring reaches Rumney by way of Quincy Bog — peepers one evening, then herons, then the whole valley turning that particular new green. Northwood Tree Care LLC waits out mud season with everybody else and then gets moving: raking winter's litter out of the turf, the first cut of the year, trimming back whatever the snow flattened, and fresh mulch laid around the beds. Through the warm months the mowing schedule runs up and down Rumney's back roads and out toward Campton. A dooryard that was matted and brown in March, standing thick and level by June — that is the whole point of the work.
