Rochester keeps two calendars, and Mikes handyman & landscape services LLC works them both. April through November it is mowing, trimming, mulching and cleanups, out past Pickering Ponds and back through the neighborhoods along the Spaulding Turnpike. December onward it is plow blades and shovels: driveways cleared, walkways opened, sand and salt laid down on the spots that glaze over after dark. The turn from one to the other happens inside a single week most years, usually while the last leaves are still coming down. Two seasons, one route, and the same care given to a mowing line as to the edge of a plowed drive.
