The Cocheco runs black beneath the old mill blocks downtown, and on a February night Rochester goes quiet except for the scrape of steel on pavement. CMS Lawn Care and Landscaping is part of that sound — plowing driveways, clearing entries and walkways, spreading salt and sand where the ice glazes over. Six months on, the same properties want mowing, trimming, edging and the cleanups that open and close a growing season. There is plain pride in both halves: bare pavement by breakfast, and a straight cut line in July. The river keeps going either way, and so does the route.
