Burke's Tree Service

About Burke's Tree Service

Rochester calls itself the Lilac City and every May makes the case, the Common in full color and the downtown scented for a fortnight. Burke's Tree Service works the streets around it and out along the Cocheco, trimming the maples that arch over the sidewalks and pruning back growth that has found its way into a porch roof. Removal is the last answer and sometimes the only one, taken on in tight lots with a fence on one side and a neighbor on the other. Summer storms roll up from the southwest and take the brittle wood; the cleanup begins as soon as the wind eases and does not stop until the trunk is out and the grass is clear. The reward is a shaded street that still lets the light down.
