Littlewoods LLC works the sandy pine ground of Raymond, New Hampshire, where the Lamprey River bends through town and granite sits close beneath the soil. Their machines open lots and shape grade — tree work and stumping, trenching and drainage, septic systems and underground utilities, driveways cut clean, ponds dug, foundations set — and from that same ground the building follows: framing, roofing, siding, windows and doors, additions and renovations. Then comes the softer end of the craft, the part you notice with your feet and your eyes: granite steps and stairways, walkways and patios, retaining walls, waterfalls, plantings. In winter they clear snow, so a driveway off Route 27 lies open and dark while the sky is still deciding on morning. There is real pleasure in it — a raw lot in mud season, a finished yard by fall that looks like it was always meant to sit there.
