Grounds Care Unlimited

About Grounds Care Unlimited

February in Portsmouth: the tide turning under the Memorial Bridge, brick streets gone white, and not a soul in Market Square at two in the morning. Grounds Care Unlimited is out then, plowing lots and driveways and breaking open the walkways downtown so doors can open at seven. Snow near the river turns to slush and back to glass in a single afternoon, which makes sanding and salting half the job. Every property gets its own plan for where the piles go, because on narrow lanes the next storm has to fit somewhere too. Plowed, sanded, finished — and the harbor lights running down wet pavement afterward.
