Northfield sits on the east bank of the Winnipesaukee River, where the water runs quick past old brick mill blocks and the land tilts up into wooded hills at the doorstep of the Lakes Region. Kingsbury Lawn & Irrigation works that ground — landscape design and hardscaping, sod and hydroseeding, fertilization, and irrigation systems installed, repaired, and blown out before the first hard freeze. There is a plain pleasure in a lawn that fills in thick and even after seeding, in sprinkler lines that wake up clean in April, in a driveway plowed, blown, shoveled and salted while the mill town is still dark. The work reaches across Tilton and Northfield to Belmont, Gilmanton, Laconia and Weirs Beach, tending homes and commercial properties alike. Come November the mowers give way to the plow, and the same yards edged in July are the ones held open all winter.
