The Winnipesaukee River runs fast between Northfield and Tilton, loud under the bridges in May while the hills let go of their snowmelt. JKP Services starts the year right about then — first mow, beds opened up, winter sand raked off the edge of every lawn. Through summer it is the weekly turn: mowing, trimming, edging, mulch, and a fall cleanup that goes on until the oaks finally quit. Up on Bay Hill the ground is uneven and stony and the wind dries a lawn out fast, so no two properties get treated quite alike. The result is uniform anyway — even cut, clean lines, nothing left behind.
