About JCB Designscapes LLC

Early light comes down the Sugar River valley on a slant, touching the brick of Newport's mill blocks before it ever reaches the hills, and that is a good hour to stand on a job with the stone still cool and the day's patio only a shape chalked on the ground. JCB Designscapes builds that shape into something you can walk on — pavers, walkways, driveways, retaining walls and dry stone walls, landscape design and installation, with lighting set low along an edge so a yard keeps its life after dusk. Between the builds come the steady pleasures: landscape maintenance and seasonal cleanups, drainage cut so the spring runoff goes where it is told, light excavation, and snow removal that leaves a drive open and dark long before the road wakes up. The service area runs from Sunapee and New London through Grantham, Croydon, Goshen, Claremont and Plainfield and home again to Newport, and the aim is always the same — a wall that shrugs off the frost, an edge still crisp in the flat gold light of an August evening.
