About Gaufor Lawn Care and Maintenance

The Sugar River winds straight through Newport, and the old rail bed beside it, now a trail, crosses the water on covered railroad bridges that have outlasted the trains. Gaufor Lawn Care and Maintenance keeps lawns in this river town, where a summer rain can raise the Sugar overnight and send the grass shooting up by the weekend. The answer is steady attention: regular mowing, trimming close around tree trunks and porch posts, and keeping each yard in order from one week to the next. Beyond the bridges the Sullivan County hills roll away green, and a newly mown lawn at home is a small, tidy echo of all that open country.
