The two Uncanoonuc summits stand up on the eastern skyline, and on an October evening the light coming off them is the color of a copper penny. Uncanoonuc Landscape works the ground beneath that view — mowing through the green months, cutting crisp borders along beds and walkways, hauling away the leaves when the maples let go all at once. When the ground hardens, those same routes turn into plow routes: driveways opened, walks cleared, the turnaround left wide enough to actually turn around in. A New Boston property asks for both halves of that work, and both are more satisfying done well. The name is borrowed from the hills; the standard comes from the people who live under them.
