The Greener Company

About The Greener Company

In New Boston the dooryards run right up to the road, and the stone walls threading the hills above the Piscataquog still hold their lines through hayfield and second-growth pine. The Greener Company works in that same grammar — landscape design and installation, walkways and hardscape, granite and stone, and the grading that sends water where it ought to go instead of where it wants to. There is a plain satisfaction in the result: a walk set true, an edge that reads clean in the long slant of a valley afternoon, a soggy corner of a yard finally gone quiet and green. When the year turns, so does the work, and a driveway is opened and scraped down while the sky is still deciding on morning. It is unhurried, physical craft, kept close to home in New Boston and the hill towns around it.
