About Thomson Tree Service & Excavation

Head inland from the bay and Meredith turns into hill country — Meredith Center, the dirt roads around Lake Wicwas, stone walls running off into second growth that used to be pasture. Thomson Tree Service & Excavation works out there among the hemlock and white pine, where a rotten trunk fifty feet from a house is a problem you solve before the next big blow rather than after. Removal and trimming carry the working season, pruning comes when the sap is down and every branch shows its intent, and storm cleanup comes whenever the wind crosses the ridge and rearranges things. Feeding brush into the chipper on a cool morning, with light coming sideways through the pines, makes the whole day easy to like. The lawn gets raked last, and that is the part that brings somebody out onto the porch to look.
