About Jurius Associates Inc

Early on a Meredith morning, before the light has finished coming up off the bay, there is a stone that needs setting and a bed line that needs finding. Jurius Associates Inc works in that patient register — stone walls that hold a slope and stand free where a slope ends, steps and walkways laid to meet the ground the way the ground already leans, patios and outdoor rooms carved out of Lakes Region granite and glacial till. They draw the plan first, sketch it, then bring in the small excavation and the plantings, and by the long shadows of a summer evening a yard that was only an idea has edges, a path, a place to sit. The work reaches from the latchkey out toward the White Mountains, and it is the kind that stays put: a wall still true after mud season, flower beds waking on their own in April, a walkway that will be walked for a long time before anyone thinks about who built it.
