About Nowak Landscape Construction

The plate compactor finds its low rhythm over freshly screeded sand, and after that it is all hands — a granite edge nudged a quarter inch, a paver turned until its grain agrees with the stone beside it. Litchfield sits on the flat river terrace of the Merrimack, sandy ground between corn rows and pine, where the light comes long and low across open fields and a yard has to hold July and February both. Nowak Landscape Construction is a hardscape design and build firm working that ground: patios, walkways, pool decks and driveways; walls, stonework and fireplaces in concrete paver, brick, granite and natural stone; outdoor kitchens, lighting and putting greens drawn to fit the lot they land on. The calendar turns and so does the work — mowing and lawn care through the green months, plowing and clearing when the river fog freezes to the fields. What's left is plain and physical: a drive opened before the day starts, a patio that reads dead level to the eye at dusk, a place that keeps its shape from New Hampshire down into Massachusetts.
