Reed's Tree Service

About Reed's Tree Service

Below Mount Caesar the ground goes to ledge and old pasture, and in late October the oaks up there hold their leaves longer than anything else in Swanzey. Reed's Tree Service spends that stretch of the year pruning while the crowns are readable — cutting out the dead, shortening limbs that reach over a barn roof, taking down the trees that will not make another winter. Along the old rail bed and the field edges off Route 32, removals mean dropping big wood where there is finally room for it, then leaving the rounds stacked wherever the owner wants them. Storm work is the other half: a nor'easter comes through, an oak splits, and a driveway stays buried until somebody arrives with a saw and a chipper. They finish with the ground raked flat, so the first snow lands on an open lawn instead of a tangle.
