From the high ground on the west side of Keene you can watch a storm come up the valley from the southwest with Monadnock going grey behind it, and then the whole bowl of the city fills in white. Keene storms have a habit of arriving overnight and stopping right before the morning commute, which makes the hours between them the ones that matter. There is nothing quite like the last pass along a driveway at dawn, snow squared off clean on both sides. The city wakes up and simply goes to work.
