Wholistic Gardens

About Wholistic Gardens

Cross the red covered bridge over the Ellis River and Jackson opens up, a mountain village where Wildcat Brook tumbles down its falls and the peaks crowd in close on every side. Wholistic Gardens tends lawns and gardens in this high valley, where the growing season is short and each warm week is precious. After an afternoon thunderstorm clears off the summits, a freshly mowed lawn and tended beds shine as if they had been rinsed by hand. The work follows the land's own pace: thin mountain soil, bright sun, and cool nights that arrive early in the Mount Washington Valley. Here a yard is cared for as a whole, grass and beds and borders together, one living picture.
