About SP Pfau LLC

Snow comes into Jackson the way it intends to stay — hushed, sifting sideways down off Carter Notch, filling a dirt drive to the mailbox post while the whole valley is still dark. SP Pfau LLC works that hour, running plow up the steep pitches and hairpin turns above the Ellis River so the village can get itself down to Route 16 by breakfast. There is a plain, physical pleasure in the result: banks cut square, a turnaround opened wide enough to swing a truck around in one motion, pavement showing black and wet under a hard blue White Mountain sky. Storm after storm, they clear driveways and lots through Jackson and the Mount Washington Valley — and the ground they open stays open.
