About Hopkinton Forestry & Land Clr

First light reaches a Henniker woodlot late, coming down through hemlock and hardwood long after it has already found the Contoocook. That is the hour Hopkinton Forestry & Land Clearing goes to work — selective cutting and forest management, chipping and stumping, excavation and complete site work, fields and pasture opened out of rough ground, standing timber bought, debarked firewood split and stacked. There is a real satisfaction in a hillside thinned just enough to let light down to the forest floor, and in an acre made level and true, with a clean line where the treeline starts again. Come winter, when the snow banks up along the river roads and the woods go quiet, the same machines turn to plowing drives and lots across Henniker and the towns around it. The land holds the shape they give it.
