About Machado Enterprises L.L.C

There is a sound a plow blade makes on a Gilsum dirt road at dawn — a low steady scrape, then the crunch of the wing catching a bank. Machado Enterprises L.L.C keeps that sound going across the Cheshire County hills, plowing dooryards and drives between Surry Mountain and the Sullivan line. Snow up here rides in on a northwest wind and drifts back over a road twenty minutes after it's been cut, which is why the route gets run more than once. Every drive is opened wide at the mouth so nobody has to gun it out onto the town road. By the time the sky goes the color of skim milk, the drives are done and the day can start.
