January in Durham goes dark by four-thirty, the falls at Mill Pond run half-frozen, and Main Street has to be walkable by morning. Mow & Snow Masters plows and shovels through that — driveways, walkways, steps, and the parking spots that fill in again before dawn. The town flips completely by May, when those same properties want mowing on a weekly turn, trimming, sharp edges, and a spring cleanup to get there. Two very different kinds of early morning, and the same reason behind both. It is good work, being the reason somebody's day starts without a shovel in their hands.
